ECU Village offers a self-catered, apartment-style living experience with no religious affiliations, traditions, hierarchies or set meal times. This means you have the freedom to do what you want, when you want (within reason of course and subject to the Village Rules)!

While we do offer an independent lifestyle, we ensure support is available 24 hours a day, along with a range of exciting events and activities to help you meet new people and learn new skills.

In short, we offer a fantastic balance between support and independence!

ECU Village runs on a 44 week residential agreement which allows residents to have constant access to their rooms and Village facilities throughout the academic year. All residents are required in their Residential Agreement to pay fees and charges over 44 weeks.

ECU Village doesn't provide catering. However each apartment has a full kitchen including a fridge, stovetop, microwave and cooking equipment so feel free to cook up a storm at any time of day. Spouses, partners, boyfriends or girlfriends can apply for accommodation at ECU Village, as long as they are students at ECU. Couples will be provided with individual rooms, however you can request to be allocated rooms in the same six bedroom apartment. One bedroom apartments are single occupancy only.

If you’d like to share a room with a friend, please specify this on your application form. Given our high demand, we can’t guarantee to fulfill all requests, but we’ll definitely try our best to accommodate you.

The earlier you and your friend apply, the easier it is for us to assign you to the same apartment.

ECU Village hosts a diverse range of residents from all over the world and across Australia, and we see this as a true strength of our community. To ensure fairness, we don’t give preference to any group over others. Therefore we encourage all applicants to submit the relevant forms as early as possible to avoid disappointment.

ECU Village Mount Lawley is located on ECU’s Mount Lawley campus, just minutes from the University’s classrooms and recreational facilities. To give you an idea of how close you are to your classes, it takes approximately five minutes to walk to the cafeteria and bookshop, and just two minutes to the gym!

ECU Village is surrounded by an excellent array of restaurants, one of the biggest shopping centres in Western Australia and a wide range of sporting and recreational facilities. To top it all off, we’re just 10 minutes by bus from the city centre!

All residents are responsible for keeping their rooms and apartments clean. A cleaning service can be organised for a fee. For more information, please contact us.

Broadband connectivity is available in every bedroom at the Village. Visit our fees page for more information on internet packages.

No pets, including fish, may be kept in the Village. Additionally, residents are not permitted to bring animals into any building of the Village. This Rule does not apply to the extent that it restricts the keeping of a guide or hearing dog.

All ECU students are eligible to apply for accommodation at ECU Village, including research assistants and full-time, part-time, undergraduate and postgraduate students.
